Jose (Joe) Inay, 64, of Mineral Wells, Texas passed on to his eternal rest on the 2nd Advent Sunday, December 6, 2020. Joe was born October 15, 1956 to Sebastian Inay and Catalina Tubera in Sinait Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He is the 7th of 8 children. He completed his associate in Liberal Arts in Far Eastern University and completed his nursing studies in 1978 at Sta. Teresita School of Nursing in Manila, Philippines. Before migrating to the United States in 1980, Joe worked at rural clinics in the Philippines. In 1980 he migrated to Stephenville, Texas working as an RN in Stephenville and Gorman. In 1985 he moved to Mineral Wells where the rest of the family resided. He was employed at PPGH from 1985 to 2001 and Campbell Hospital from 2001 to 2009. On April 28, 2009 Joe came back home to PPGH where he worked until his passing. Joe also worked for Tarleton State University in the Simulation Laboratory supervising nursing students practice their skills before going to the hospital for clinical rotation.
Joe is a Board Certified Medical-Surgical Nursing Specialist. He received numerous commendations from patients and co-workers. He was a good leader and as his co-worker described him, “he was something fierce and the definition of expert nurse. He was a mentor to countless nurses and other team members.” “He really had a heart of a servant and did all he could to provide the best care for his patients and his co-workers.” “As witnessed in his dedication to his calling since the pandemic, Joe’s love for his patients was remarkable and inspiring.” “We are truly better for having Joe as a mentor and as part of our PPGH med-surg family.”
Joe had a passion for gardening and building little projects, tables, benches, cabinets and little houses. He could build anything he put his mind to. He greatly loves music of any kind, newest electronics and gadgets. He loves tools.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Felicitas of the home; sons, Dwaine (Amanda) and Ray (Clary); grandson, Josiah; 3 step-grandchildren, Audrey, Isaiah, and Jeremiah all of Fort Worth; siblings, Criselda (Elpidio), Naty Echanique (Sulpicio), Mercy Glidewell of Mineral Wells, Teresita Ujano (Magno) of Stephenville, Florence (Elvie) of Waco, Edita Tapat (Roger) of Hawaii; numerous nieces and nephews in Hawaii, Australia, California, Waco and the Philippines. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edison, niece Eileen Inay Simon, and brother-in-law Larry Glidewell.
A Rosary followed by Funeral Mass will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwaine Fuller, Sulpicio Echanique, Jr., Rogel Ibe, Jeremy Glidewell, Andy Glidewell, Florence Inay, Reuben Ujano.
