Johnny “Ray” Hardy, age 57, was born in Olney, Maryland to Johnny and Rose Watkins Hardy on September 23, 1963. Ray took his last breath on Thursday, November 5, 2020, due to a fast spreading cancer.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Becky Chesnut Hardy; five children, Michael Hardy, Matthew Hardy, Justin (Savannah) Lewis, Tiffany (Cody) Blakeney and Cory Hardy; seven grandchildren, Nathan Peterson, Nathalie Blakeney, Katy Blakeney, Lane Blakeney. Ricky and Torin Lewis, and Alecia Hardy; his mother, Rose Hardy; two brothers, Steve (Patsy) Hardy and Royce (Pam) Hardy; In laws Bob and Joy Chesnut; aunt Patsy Lawson; uncle Odell McVey; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many devoted friends who loved him.
Ray is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Hardy and two sisters, Sherry and Julie Hardy.
Ray’s mechanical advice, truck driving stories, and laughter will be missed the most. Ray loved working with his hands. If he dreamed it he could build it.
Visitation will be Monday, November 9, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, TX. The family is asking for burial donations instead of flowers. Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 2 pm at the Poe Prairie Cemetery in Millsap, TX.
