Johnny O. Burson

Johnny O. Burson, 67, went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2011 at his summer home in Saguache County, Colorado. He was born July 21, 1944 in Mineral Wells, to Jasper O. and Annie Irene Stewart Burson. He married Karen Liles on March 27, 1964 in Mineral Wells. Services will be 10 AM Friday, August 12, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Montoya officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Jeff Burson, James Lindley, James Lindley, Jr., John Lindley, Bud Burson, Joseph Lindley, and Harold Canada. The honorary pallbearers will be William Bowen, Jimmy Bowen, Robbie Liles, Steve Smith, Dewayne Smith and Stuart Richard. He is survived by his wife: Karen Burson, son and daughter-in-law: Jeffrey and Shari Burson, daughters and son-in-law: Stephanie Burson, Valerie and James Lindley, grandchildren: Birgit, Gabby, and Bud Burson, James Jr., John, and Joseph Lindley, Joseph and Kristi Dalton, brothers and sisters-in-law: Joe and Sandra Burson, David and Grace Bruton, sister: Andrea Phillips, brother-in-law: Terry Liles and wife Loretta, sister-in-law: Velda Bowen, numerous nieces and nephews, and loyal dog Prissy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: James Richard and Alton Chester Bruton, and sister: Joann Burson.
