John Douglas Wood Sr.

John Douglas (Doug) Wood Sr. 70 passed away December 21, 2012 in Weatherford and is now in the presence of the Lord and reunited with his wife Linda. Doug was born in Linden, Texas, the son of Wilbern and Ora Jane (Burleson) Wood. Doug and Linda were married on July 21, 1962. Doug was an Electrical Engineer by trade, but his true passion was his wife, children and grandchildren. He was very involved in all facets of his family's life. He will be missed by so many loved ones; survivors are son, Doug Jr. and wife Stacy Wood; daughters, Stacy and husband Keith Andersen and Christi and husband Joe Hutson; Grandchildren Jessi and Jake Andersen, Amy, Emily and Beth Hutson, Skyler Wood and Kyndra and husband Bryan Ruiz; brothers Tim, George and Danny Wood and sister Joan Thomas; and fiancé, BuAnna Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Linda. The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers at Martin Crest; though he was not there long; he was treated like family with care and compassion by the staff. Family visitation is scheduled for Sunday December 23, 2012 from 6-8 PM. Service is Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel, with burial following at Hill Cemetery.
