John William Wilson

John William Wilson, 88, of Fairfield, Texas passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at his home. Services will be 2 pm Sunday at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel, Rev. Lottie Hall officiating with burial in the Graford Cemetery. Jerry Abercrombie, Bill Gould, Brandon, Shawn and Justin Cullum and Joey Burton will serve as pallbearers.Mr. Wilson was born February 24, 1920 in Graford, Texas, the son of William Allen and Osie Ione May Wilson. She married Zadia Wilson in 1950 in Kermit and she preceded him in 1996. He married Katherine Stokes, January 27, 1997 in Fairfield. He was a Marine veteran of WWII and was on duty during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He and his father helped in the construction of Morris Sheppard Dam on Possum Kingdom Lake.Survivors include: Wife-Katherine Wilson of Fairfield, Children-Linda and Jerry Abercrombie of tyler, Becky and Matt Levinson of Palm Beach, Fl, Brenda and Henry Morris Willis of Teague, Kenneth and Connie Livingston Cullum of Waxahachie, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, Brother-Jerry Wilson of Graford, Numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friendsHe was preceded by his first wife, Zadia Lee, his parents, a daughter, Doris Austin and four sisters.
