Command Sgt. Major United States Army (Retired), John Wesley Waddell, age 90, passed to his heavenly home on July 9, 2014, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family.A celebration of John's life will be Saturday July 12, at 10 a.m. at Palo Pinto United Methodist Church, officiated by Tom Beaty with burial to follow at Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation Friday, July 11, 2014 6-8 p.m. at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.John was born April 3rd 1924 to Harry Otis Waddell and Zaidee Pearl Harris Waddell in Bay City, Michigan.John served his country during World War II from the Aleutian Islands to Berlin, and retired after 22 years of services.John was a Master Mason and Past Master of Fidelitas Lodge 830 in Karlsruhe Germany.John is preceded in death by his parents and son Johnny Waddell.John was a loving man with a kind heart and generous natures. He enjoyed writing poetry, singing and traveling.John is survived by his wife and the love of his life Dianne Waddell, loving daughter Micheline Dee Watrous and husband Ray of Belle Mead, New Jersey, her four children Abby Watrous, of Belle Mead, New Jersey, David Watrous, of Schoffield Barracks, Hawaii, Gwyneth Watrous, of Ontario Canada, and Vivienne Watrous, of Portland, Maine.John is also survived by his wife Dianne's children who are also John's pride and joy, daughters, Laura Watkins and husband Mike of Garner, Texas and Lisa Livingston and husband Kerry of Aledo, Texas, Granddaughters Ashlee Hopkins and Husband Shawn of Fort Hood, Texas, and Cheyanne Moon of Mineral Wells, Texas and Great-Grandson Braxton Moon of Mineral Wells.Pall Bearers will be Members of Mineral Wells Masonic Lodge No. 611
