John "Jay" Trammell Sr. passed into his Lord's arms on June 14, 2016. He was born on April 23, 1927 in Stonewall County, Texas; the son of Lorean Trammell and Bertha Clark. Jay married his loving wife Ellen Crosson in 1953. He served in the US Army and after he came back to the states he found his love in ranching, farming, and raising horses for his lifetime. He was also a long time member of the Southside Church of Christ and served as Deacon and Elder and a member of the Palo Pinto County Live Stock Association. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Chapel from 6-8pm. A funeral will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Southside Church of Christ at 2pm. A graveside will be held the following day, June 17, 2016 at Aspermont Cemetery at 11am. He is survived by his wife Ellen Trammell; sons: John Trammell Jr. and wife Brenda, Jeff Trammell and wife Margaret, Jimmy Trammell and wife Tonja, Jody Trammell and wife Courtney, and Jay Trammell and wife Stacy; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Gordan Trammell, LaVelle Schoonover, Garlan Trammell, L.D. Trammell Jr., and Clyde Trammell. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Opportunity Camp of Southside Church of Christ in his memory.
