John Robertson

Our special cowboy, John Preston Robertson (J.P.), went to be with the Lord February 19, 2015. He was born August 28, 1950 in Brownfield, Texas to Johnny and Verda (Berry) Robertson. He grew up in Plains, Texas and after finishing high school attended Sul Ross University. He was drafted into the Army, and was stationed on the island of Okinawa. After the Army he returned to Alpine and went back to Sul Ross. He settled in Marfa, Texas where he worked on several ranches in Presidio and Brewster Counties. He also worked for Lockheed Martin Aero Stat for 13 years. He is survived by his wife, Rene Hendricks Robertson; mother, Verda Robertson; sister, Linda Murray and husband Thomas; brother, John Richard Robertson; children, John Preston Robertson Jr. and wife Jimma, Shana Sue Barragan and husband John Albert, Holly Randell Naeglea and husband Joe and Mardi Michelle Sanchez and husband Hector; grandchildren Macy, John Preston III, Justus, Bradye, Darian, Jacob, Reagon, Shylynn, Hannah, Parker, Hector, Leandra and Christian; great-grandson, Jace Taylor. Funeral service will be held Saturday February 21, 2015 2P.M. at Patillo Baptist Church, with burial following at Dobbs Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of J.P. to Patillo Baptist Church and organizations of your choice.
