John David McClure

Lt. Col. John David McClure, 81, passed away January 15, 2015 at his home in Graford. He was born February 24, 1933 in Graford the son of John Dean and Roxie Hill McClure. He married Betty Nicklas in August 23, 1948 in Gainesville. He graduated from Graford High School in 1949, and from Texas A&M in 1953. He served on the Graford School Board and was a past President, and also served in the Graford 4H. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Possum Kingdom. Services will be 10 AM Monday, January 19, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Possum Kingdom. Burial will follow in Graford Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. He is survived by his children and spouses: Buddy and Att McClure of Graford, Nora and Danny Martin of PK Lake, Parker and Joyce McClure of Denton, Patrick Gene and Carrie McClure of Arlington, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in February of 2004, son: Levi, and sisters: Jean Jenkins and Marilyn Turner.
