John Hardy

John Gilbert Hardy was born July 9, 1942 in Oxen Hill, Maryland the son of Roland Emanual Hardy and Eva Marie Norwood Hardy. He passed away August 18, 2011 after a year long fight with cancer. Services will be 10 AM Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Liberty Baptist Church at 1308 SE 9th Ave. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law: Patsy and Kenny Lawson of Maryland, brother-in-law: O'Dell McVey of West Virginia, mother of his children: Rose V. Hardy, sons and daughters-in-law: Ray and Becky Hardy, Steve and Patsy Hardy, Royce and Pam Hardy, 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Betty Hardy McVey and India Hardy Bonich and husband Richard Bonich, daughters: Julie and Sherry Hardy, and wife: Mary Hardy.
