In Loving Memory of Joe Gomez

Joe went home to be with our Lord on December 22, 2021 at 5:30 a.m.

Joe was eighty-seven (87) years old, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He joined the United States Navy where he worked as an electrician’s mate. After retiring from the Navy around 1960 he went on to work as a helicopter mechanic for Turbomeca, USA. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, flying remote-control airplanes, and traveling to other countries with his wife. He was also an active member of their church, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Born on March 20, 1934 in Mineral Wells, Texas, he was the son of the late Herculano and Jane Gomez.

He married the love of his life, Berdonna on April 12, 1958 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Mineral Wells, TX. They shared a wonderful sixty-three (63) years together.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Berdonna Gomez; Brother-in-law, Freddie Gonzalez; Daughters, Catherine Thomas and Marie McCarthy; Son, Michael Gomez; and parents, Herculano and Jane Gomez.

He is survived by his sister, Dora Olvera; Sister-in-law, Delone Gonzalez; son, David Gomez and wife Tammy; Son’s-in-law, Toby Thomas and Dennis McCarthy; granddaughter, Jeni Masby; grandson, Joseph Thomas and wife Casey; grandson Joshua Gomez and wife Dakota; granddaughter, Ashlyn Gray and husband Ryan; grandson Nathan McCarthy and wife Allyson; great-granddaughters, Kinsleigh, Amara, Hope Catherine and Emma Jane; great-grandsons, Troy, Samuel and Dean; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, along with countless friends.

Visitation

Sunday, December 26^th 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rosary

Monday, December 27^th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Funeral will follow immediately after at 10:30a.m.
