Joe Bill Sparks

June 24, 1954 — October 2, 2020

Joe Bill went to his heavenly home on October 2, 2020 at 6 a.m., under hospice care, at Hilltop Park Care Center in Weatherford, TX. He was born in Kermit, TX on June 24, 1954 to parents Frank and Syble Sparks.

Joe Bill was raised in a Christian home and spent a lot of his early years learning to play stringed instruments and singing with the family. He grew into an excellent musician and received a musical scholarship to Weatherford College. He spent many of his young years singing with his parents, and sister, Bobbie Sue at youth camps and church events. Later in life he became well known for hauling horses coast to coast for several famous cutting horse owners and trainers such as Buster Welch, Carol Rose, Shorty Freeman, Helen Troves and Hoot Walker. When Joe Bill would arrive at a cutting he would also warm the horses up by riding them down for the trainers and owners to jump on safely. Joe Bill also worked for many ranches as a cowboy and foreman.

His parents Frank and Syble Sparks preceded him in death.

Joe Bill is survived by his son, Aaron Sparks and wife Melissa and their children; sister, Bobbie Sue Sparks Bradberry and husband Marc and their children; brother, Dennis Sparks and his children; uncle and aunt Jack and Judy Sparks and their children; aunt, Babe Gilbert and her children; as well as many cousins and friends.
