Joan Uriarte 75 of Mineral wells passed away on June 22, 2011 at a Fort Worth hospital. Joan or Jody as she liked to be called was born in Hico Texas the daughter of J.C. and Lorene Atkinson Needham on April 27, 1936; she lived in Hico before moving to Mineral Wells. She went to beauty school in Waco when she was in her 20's and became a beautician. She was also one of the best cooks you'd ever come across. She loved to be around family and she loved to cook for everyone. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She married the love of her life on October 17, 1984, Adolfo Uriarte. She worked hard all of her life, even when she broke both ankles one time; worked in a wheelchair and never missed a day. She worked at the Crazy Water Hotel for 12 years. Survivors are husband Adolfo Uriarte of Mineral Wells; daughters Brenda Brumbalow of Hamilton, Beverly Harris of Mineral Wells and Jackie and husband Kerry Rasberry of Crawford; brother Bobby and wife Margarett Needham of Hico; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Barbara Needham. Visitation is at funeral home on Sunday June 26, 2011 from 6-8PM with services being held on Monday June 27, 2011 at 2PM in the Baum Carlock Bumgardner Chapel, burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
