Jimmy Souders

Jimmy Souders of Millsap passed into his Lord's arms on August 4, 2016 he was born in Logan, Ohio; the son of James Robert Souders and Stella Virginia Scott Souders. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel from 6-8pm. A graveside service will be held on 10 am Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Millsap Cemetery. He leaves behind his wife, Gladys "Shelly" Souders of Millsap; children, Matt Souders and wife Julie of Millsap and Shelby Patillo of Millsap; Grandson, Warren Patillo; brothers and sisters, Ben Roe, Ann and Kenny Cook, Kelly and Connie Souders, Jamie Souders, Greg Souders, Bryan and Michelle Ireton, Jennifer Trimmer, and Vicki Rubb all from Ohio; brother and sister-in-laws, Albert and Jane Vandeaver, Johnny and Suzanne Jones, and Bill and Leanne Turner; special nieces, Jennifer, Julie, and Jackie, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Stella Souders; special brother-in-law, Butch Williams; and mother-in-law, Joyce Jones. Jimmy joined the Army in 1967 at the age of 18 and received Flight Training in Ft Wolters. He served as an Army Captain in VietNam. He is a highly decorated Veteran with 44 Air Medals, Vietnam Service Medal, 2 Crosses of Gallantry ,Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Four Overseas bars,, Distinguished Flying Cross, and Army commendation Medal.
