Jimmy Charles Hogue, 72, of Mineral Wells passed away Thursday June 6, 2013at a Mineral Wells Hospital. No Visitation is planned. Funeral services will be Monday June 10, 2013 at 10:00am at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Chapel. Graveside services will be held Tuesday June 11, 2013 at 2:00pm at Morton Cemetery in Morton Texas. Jim was born January 10, 1941 in Minden, Louisiana to Charles G. and Lena E.(Addison) Hogue. Jim grew up in Monument, NM and graduated high school in nearby Hobbs, NM. He attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM. He served in Vietnam from 1963-1965 active in the 1st Calvary 7th Brigade D. Division, on which the movie "We were soldiers" is based he was a paratrooper he remained as a reservist for four additional years. He married Linda Freeman December 9, 1983 in Lovington, NM together they lived in Whiteface for 12 years where Jim worked as Pumper in the Oilfield. They moved to Mineral Wells in 1995 where they presently live. Jim could build anything, enjoyed camping, fishing, playing the guitar and gambling. He was a Baptist, Mason and Jaycee. Survivors include Jims wife Linda, sons Len Blackstock and wife Missy, Jeff Hogue; daughters Shari Hogue, Beckie Lee and husband Kevin; grandchildren Aaron Lee, Kendall Lee, Madison Leee, Joshua Hogue, Samantha Galavez, Jerry Zapata, Emilio Zapata; great grandchildren Zayden Zapata, Anyah Galvez; 1 brother Gordon Hogue and wife Gayle; two nieces and one nephew.
