Jimmie Joy Boone Harrington, 89, of Palo Pinto, Texas died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at her daughter's home in Mineral Wells.Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto.Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.Interment will be in the Brad Cemetery. Rev. Ferrell Gage will officiate. Pallbearers will be John Kluber, Bryan Harrington, Daniel Medlin, Billy Boone, Joel Boone,and Richard Boone. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Barrington, Barry Foreman, and Lester Beaty.Jimmie was born April 12, 1919, in Pleasant Valley, Palo Pinto County to William Cefus and Nan Boone. She was the youngest of 13 children. She moved with her family to Palo Pinto at the age of 2. She had been residing in the house that her father purchased in 1920 for the past 8 years. Jimmie married John F. Harrington on February 22, 1939, in the family home by her father who was Justice of the Peace. She and John F. moved to Odessa, Texas in 1948 to raise their two children.Jimmie was a long time member of Second Baptist Church of Odessa. She served as president of the Women's Missionary Union and taught a Sunday school class for many years. She moved to Abilene, Texas in 1988 and became a member of Southwest Park Baptist until she moved and joined First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto in 2004. Jimmie's family was the pride and joy of her life. She was a loved and respected mother, granddmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, church member, and good friend to many.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Earl Medlin of Mineral Wells; her son Larry Don Harrington of Palo Pinto Lake; Grandsons, John Kluber of Austin, Bryan Harrington of Abilene; Granddaughter Leslie Harrington of Abilene; Great grandson, Matthew Harrington of Abilene; Brother, W. C. "Dub" Boone of Temple; Step granddaughters and sons-in-law, Fawn and Chris Barrington, Dawn and Barry Foreman, Jenny and Leander Lopez; Step grandson, Daniel Medlin; Sisters-in-law, Syble Harrington and Grace Boone; Brother-in-law and wife, Roy and Lou Ann Harrington; Numerous step great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friend, Julie Treece.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband ,her brothers, Wayne, Simon, Frances Marlon "Ug", Henry, Clifford, and L.E. "Slick" Boone; Sisters, Mary Wilson, Ellen Sturdivant, Lillie Mae "Tillie" Sides and Josephine Herring.
