Jewel Sims

Jewel Faye Sims, 88, of Mineral Wells, a loving Mother, Nanny and Great-grandmother stepped into Heaven on July 27, 2010. Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday at the City View Trinity Community Church with Brother Carl W. Word and Brother Hayward Nolen officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Park Cemetery with Wesley Wade, Rocky Romano, Chris Pool, Ronnie Doss, Andy Martin and Jacob Martin serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Sims was born November 23, 1921 in Mineral Wells, the daughter of William C. and Willie Ritcha Allen Burns. She was a Commercial Bank teller at First National Bank/Nations Bank from 1955 until 1976, a real estate agent and a private sitter. She married Leonard Earl Sims July 1976 in Mineral Wells. She was a longtime resident of Mineral. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Edward and Patricia Brown of Ruidoso, NM, Paula and Eugene Holland of Anderson, SC, Debbie and Alton Wade of Perrin, Kathy Collins of Crosbyton; granddaughters and spouses, Karen Brown, Kelly and Rocky Romano, Tina and Tony Hayes, Beverly and Andy Martin,, Sarah and Chris Pool, Denise Ramos and Jaime and Shawn McDougal; grandsons and spouses, Christopher Wade, Wesley and Christal Wade and Jason and Shannon Wade; great-granddaughters, Samantha Hayes, Bridgette Hayes, Kayla Holland, Andrea Martin, Bailey Martin, Gracyen McDougal, Ashlee Collins and Ashley Wade; great-grandsons, Jacob Martin, Gage McDougal, Garrett McDougal, Enrique Ramos and Aiden Mendoza; great-great-grandchild, Riley Alexis Martin; sister, Janelle Doss; brother, Ellis Burns; sister-in-law, Bertha Burns; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Sims; sister, Dorothy Estes; brothers, J. R. Burns, R. A. Burns and Melvin Burns. The family wishes to thank Dr. Alice Ramsey, Encompass Home Health and Seasons Hospice for the love and attention given to our Mother during her last months here on earth.
