It has been the will of Almighty God to call from labor to reward, Jeanette Wilmer, age 83. She went peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Kindred Hospital Tarrant County. Her passing marks the end of a long journey of illness and pain, but God’s wonderful grace has been sufficient.
Jeanette was born on August 9, 1937 in Okaloosa County in the city of Crestview, Florida, the daughter of James Lewis (J. L.) McDonald and Mayola Gilchrist. She graduated from Carver-Hill High School in 1956 and attended Florida A & M University.
She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Archie Wilmer Jr., on April 13,1957, and spent 63 years together. To this union three children were born, Fred, JoAnn, and Archie III. Her faith and family were the most important parts of her life, and would become her greatest treasures and blessings.
Jeanette accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and united with the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Crestview. In 1967 she relocated with her husband and family from Tallahassee, to Mineral Wells, and there united with the Bethel Baptist Church. At Bethel she served faithfully through the years in various auxiliaries and positions including the Usher Board, Senior Mission, Baptisory Committee, and as a Deaconess.
