Janith “Jan” Baggett, 74, passed away July 31, 2022.
She was born August 21, 1947 in Jacksboro to JT and Veta Jeffrey. She later moved to Graford and married Joel “Ben” Baggett in 1978. Together they shared 7 children. Jan had jobs as a waitress and a housekeeper, but had an abundance of talents she put to use during her many years as a homemaker. She gave up most of her hobbies for her greatest passion: spending time with her grandchildren. Most of her recent years were spent with her youngest grandkids: Zoey, Zane, Jade, Case, and Halsten. She was the happiest when all of 7 kids and their families came home for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben, and a sister, Koleen Leach.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her children, James Hale and wife JoAnne, Jerald Hale and wife Belinda, Jolie Lopez and husband Kevin, Carrie Simonton and husband Eddie, Natalie Chaney, Sarah Bailey and husband Bobby, and Sue Bounds and husband Will, her brothers, Trent Jeffrey and Doc Jeffrey, 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by close friends, Merle Singleton and Teresa Howard, as well as numerous friends and other family members.
Jan never wanted people to be sad about her death and did not want a funeral service. She was saved by God’s amazing grace and wanted there to be a party when she went to heaven; she loved for everyone to have a good time. A memorial party will be held at the events center in Graford on Saturday, August 6, at 11:00.
