James Junior Yates

James Junior (J. J.) Yates, 89, passed away June 5, 2010 in a Mineral Wells hospital. He was born May 1, 1921 in Capitan, New Mexico the son of James Walker and Sallie Ophlia Trimble Yates. He married Lillian Ellen Martin on August 1, 1940 in Rotan. With only a sixth grade education his was an excellent provider and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He retired from Cantex Industries after 35 years of loyal service. He was a lifelong Christian and attended many Baptist Churches through the years. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Dr. Lucian Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife: Lillian Ellen Yates of Mineral Wells, grandson: Carl Chester Yates Jr. of Weatherford, great-grandchildren: Jamie Nichole of Mineral Wells, Jennifer Shawnee of Fort Worth, James Rowdy of Weatherford, great-great-grandchildren: Emily Joy of Mineral Wells, Aiden Levi of Mineral Wells, and one on the way: Addison Marie, sister: Elsie Louise Yates Hatcher of Odessa, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Carl Chester Yates Sr. in September of 1966, and sisters: Eva, Gladys, Inez, Jewel, Millie, and Zula.
