James Kidwell

James Aaron "Jerry" Kidwell 94, of Mineral Wells died Wednesday April 24, 2013 at a Weatherford care center. A memorial service will be held Saturday April 27, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the First Christian Church in Mineral Wells. Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8PM at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. Jerry was born November 7, 1918 in Millsap, Texas to Jim and Stella Armstrong Kidwell. Jerry joined the United States Navy the day after Pearl Harbor. Mr. Kidwell married Betty Vaughan May 2, 1945 in Palo Pinto, Texas Jerry was a member at Holders Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Kidwell served on the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department for many years as well as Volunteering for the little league and the Optimist Club. Mr. Kidwell is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Winfred Kidwell one daughter Mary Hilliard. Survivors include his wife Betty Kidwell, three sons Jim Kidwell and wife Debbie of Mineral Wells, Bob Kidwell and wife Debbie of Granbury, Richard Kidwell of Mineral Wells, three daughters Ann Munger of Anna Texas, Linda Benton and husband Joel of Euless, Texas and Vicki Kidwell of Mineral Wells. 8 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department or The Sturdivant Cemetery association.
