James Charles Jenkins

James Charles Jenkins born February 11, 1932 at Georgetown, TX.Jimmy served in the United States Army. After going through basic training at Fort Hood, TX he was sent to Korea serving with the 14th Infantry Regiment (Golden Dragons), the 25th Infantry Division. He was on the front lines for 6 weeks. The Peace Treaty was signed the week before he was scheduled to go to Pork Chop Hill. He also served for the prisoner exchange.Jimmy retired from Geer Tank Trucks in February 1997.Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.Jimmy passed away September 21, 1014 in Granbury, TX. He is survived by two sons, William of Millsap and J.C. of Austin, to granddaughters and two grandsons, twelve great grandchildren, one sister, Anna of Granbury, one brother-in-law, Robert McClendon and wife Renita of Weatherford, one sister-in-law, Joyce Jenkins of Burleson. His wife, Cordelia preceded him in death in 2003.
