Jacqueline Gore Crawford went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Born in Mineral Wells, Texas, October 20, 1925, she would become the only child to Warren Hoffman Gore and Cora Martin Gore. Except for her parent’s brief stay in west Texas, Jacqueline would grow up and graduate from Lipan High School in 1943. She would proudly recount that she was saved at age 9, while attending an August brush arbor revival in Lipan.
In December of 1943, she would marry Rafford B. Russell and from that union would be blessed with her only blood son, William Scott Russell, in 1947. The young couple had moved to Dallas after the war, and Jacqueline would begin a lifelong pattern of service to family, church and community. From homemaker and den mother, to sunday school teacher and Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), her life was full.
In 1965 she would return to Mineral Wells and began work at Can-Tex, busying herself in community, church, Zonta Club, Woman’s Club and playing bridge with the 49er's. In 1978 she would meet and marry Myron M. Crawford, the man she continually would call the "the love of her life," till her death. She would later recall, "I acquired a wonderful family with three bonus sons, their wives and a legacy of grandchildren."
Through the years, she and Myron would travel on mission trips to Brazil, Great Britain, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Australia, Spain, and Portugal. She would also say that "traveled for pleasure" to Hawaii and New Zealand.
Jacqueline often said her greatest pleasures would come from preparing meals for family and friends at the Crawford farm; adding "it was truly more blessed to give than to receive."
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Craig Crawford. Survivors include her son Scott Russell, bonus sons and daughters-in-law Melvin and Wilma Crawford, Aaron and Jeannine Crawford, Obie and Jan Crawford, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Allison Baptist Church Cemetery (full graveside service only) on Wednesday, October 6th at 2P.M. To accommodate all who wish to attend, the ceremony will be an outdoor service and will be open to everyone. There will be not be a viewing or any gatherings prior to or following the service.
A special thank you was requested from her son Scott Russell to the Crawford family for all their love and care.
