Irene Nichols Lee, 95, passed away December 21, 2009 in a Mineral Wells nursing home. She was born March 15, 1914 in Gilmore, Oklahoma the daughter of William and Cora Brown Nichols. She married Dewey R. Lee on January 22, 1934 in Monroe, Oklahoma. She had lived in Mineral Wells for the past 10 years and in Gordon prior to that. She was a member of First Christian Church, the Red Hat Ladies, and the Mineral Wells Senior Center. She loved playing Skip Bo, Chicken Foot, and loved people. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at First Christian Church with Rev. Pam Holt officiating. The pallbearers are Mike Mathis, Brady Lee, Koby Stringer, Keith Crowell, Kyle Crowell, Barry Pack, Victor Hill, and Breck Mathis. Burial will follow in New Gordon Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Marjanna and Richard Swanner, Marsa Mathis, Kay Stiffler, Melanie Stringer, son and daughter-in-law: Bob and Jeanette Lee, daughter-in-law: Billie Lee Hale, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, sister: Alene Cutsinger, brothers and sisters-in-law: Olen and Minnie Nichols, Earl and Wanda Nichols, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on April 26, 1973, son: William O. Lee, grandson: Curtis Allen, and son-in-law: J. W. Mathis.
