Ina Faye (Lambert) Freeman left her earthly body to enter God's beautiful kingdom February 28, 2015. The funeral will be 2 PM Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Sturdivant Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Clint Hogg, Danny Hogg, Steve Pontremoli, Scott Cody, Kenneth Riggs, and Paul Hearn. She was born July 20, 1918 to William Allison Lambert and Lucy Birdie (Gosdin) Lambert in Meridian, Texas. She was a loving wife to Jesse Leon Freeman who preceded her in death March 9, 1978. She was a loving mother to three children, Clois Johnson of Mineral Wells, Kay Hearn and husband Tommy of Mineral Wells, and Jimmy and Linda Freeman of Weatherford. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters: Hubert Lambert, Hual Lambert, Lecia Bandy, Velma Silva, Lillian Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews. When she was a young woman she taught Sunday School and was W.M.U. President at Lawn Terrace Baptist Church. In 1940 she went to work for William and Anna Mearl Gaylor, two of her best friends, at their grocery store. Later she worked a few years for Like's South Side Grocery before going to work for Safeway. She worked at Safeway for 20 years. She loved the grocery business, the people she worked for and with, and she loved all the people she met. She has five generations that she loved with all of her heart. Her family meant the world to her. She had 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Ina loved the Lord and loved to read her Bible. She has a tree planted in Jerusalem in honor of her 91st birthday by the founding pastor of 11th Avenue Church, R. B. Shiflet and pastor Charles Mays where she was a member for many years. She loved to work in her yard and loved her many flowers. She received the Community Pride Award in July of 1990 by the Dahlia Garden Club. The sign stood in her yard for four weeks. Ina also loved to sing and sang with the Golden Notes at one time. The family would like to thank the people at Mineral Wells Nursing and Rehab and the people or Solaris Hospice for all the loving care that was given to her during her illness.
