Horrace Roe, 83, passed away February 27, 2009 at his residence in Mineral Wells after a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be 10 AM Monday, March 2, 2009 at Southside Church of Christ with William Eudy officiating. Horrace was born in Hamilton County on September 6, 1925 to Cecil and Louann Roe. Horrace joined the Army in 1944 during WWII. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge where he earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart during his tour of duty. Horrace was merried to Wilma Harvey in 1946. He worked for Antenna Products and Can-Tex Inc. before opening his own welding and fabrication business in Mineral Wells. Horrace was a longtime member of the Palo Pinto County Sherriff's Possee and a volunteer fireman. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Wilma of 63 years, sons and daughter-in-law: Randy of Mineral Wells, Terry and Barbara of Santa Fe, New Mexico, grandchildren: Jeff Roe, Tracy Poyner, Ashley Roe, and Bryan Roe, 9 great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law: Virginia and Doug Parker of Anna, Lola and Ernst Peters of Shive, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin sister: Lois, two older brothers: Wade and Wayne, and his parents.
