Herman Elmer Blackwell, 93, passed away December 9, 2017 in Dallas. He was born August 31, 1924 in Graford the son of William Elmer and Leva Bevers Blackwell. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. His education included courses in Internal Combustion Engineering at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa as well as Abilene Christian, Abilene, Texas majoring in Accounting with minor in Bible. His career was varied including being a Journeyman Pipe Fitter, Accountant, Comptroller, and CEO for QHS, Inc dba Quality Health Services, Arlington, Texas. On his 27th birthday, August 31, 1951 he married Yvonne Wiggs. Yvonne passed away with a heart attack May 13, 1978 at age 44. He married Oletha Nall Parks January 11, 1980. Oletha died of cancer on his birthday August 31, 2010 after thirty wonderful years. Graveside services will be 1 PM Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Indian Creek Cemetery. Herman is survived by his daughters: Kim Moster and Brenda Beckloff both of Oklahoma, Linda Byerly of Washington, Tina McVay of North Carolina, step-daughter and husband: Brenda Janelle and Roger Allen Barentine of Dallas, 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and sister: Marilyn Ann Martin and husband James of old Glory, Texas. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and son: Stephen Blackwell.
