Helen Marie Weide Watts, 91, of Weatherford, passed away August 7, 2011. Born in Seward County, Kansas on July 6, 1920, she was the daughter of William and Dora Williams Weide. She married Valmon Joseph Watts on January 14, 1953 in Castle Rock, Colorado. Helen was known for being a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She resided in Parker County since 1999. She was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Services will be 2 PM Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Burial will follow in Staggs Prairie Cemetery. She is survived by her husband: Valmon Joseph Watts of Weatherford, daughter: Joyce Trainham of Weatherford, son and daughter-in-law: Leo Gerald and Pansy Peeler of Salisbury, North Carolina, grandchildren and spouses: Valmon and Susan Trainham of Lingleville, Phyllis and Kelly Peel of Weatherford, Rev. Steven and Courtney Peeler of Hastings, Nebraska, Scott Peeler of Salisbury, North Carolina, 5 great-granddaughters, 1 great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 5 sisters. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
