Hazel Moss

Hazel Cornelius Moss, 95, of Keene, TX, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008, in Keene. Graveside funeral services were 2 pm Tuesday at the Oran Cemetery. Rev. Foy Layton officiated. Hazel Vera "Mama Bear" (Cornelius) Moss was born September 16, 1913 in Runnels, Co., TX, the daughter of John Robert and Susan Murrill Kincaid. She moved to Oran in 1914 where she lived until 1948. She moved the Whitney, then to Joshua in 1956, where she worked in the school cafeteria for 29 years until retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Byron Cornelius and her husband Edgar Devoe Moss. Survivors include her sons, Jim Cornelius and wife, Pat of PK Lake and Gerald Cornelius and wife, Jody of Joshua; daughter, Debbie Cornelius and husband R. J. Absalon of Oran; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Dorothy Cornelius of Mineral Wells; numerous nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives.
