Harry Sanford Gates, Jr., 50, of Mineral Wells, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009, in a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with burial in the McAdams Cemetery. Rev. Lonnie DeArmond will officiate and the pallbearers will be Vearon Gunn, Tom Page, Trevor Rodriquez, Sam Hull, Jerry Mitchell and Kenny Howell. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday.Mr. Gates was born February 3, 1959 in Snyder, TX the son of Harry Sanford, Sr. and Oneta Mitchell Gates and lived in Mineral Wells since 2005. He was a veteran of the United States Army.Survivors include his wife, Renna Gates of Lubbock; son, Harry Sanford Gates, III of Lubbock; mother and step-father, Oneta and Norman Magee of Mineral Wells; several aunts and uncles including a special aunt, Juanita Jackson of Mineral Wells; uncle, Rubert Gates of Albany; great-aunt, Toy Lee Myers of Haltom City; three cousins, several second cousins and friends.
