Harold David Hamilton,71, passed away, in Mineral Wells, Texas, on July 30, 2023. He was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on February 27, 1952 to Darold and Myrtle (Nell Wilhoit) Hamilton. He married Minnie Buchanan of Dublin, Texas on August 11, 1973 and would have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary this year with her. Together they have three wonderful children Lee, David and Davitte.
He served for four years in the United States Air Force, after the Air Force David spent his years as a truck driver. He enjoyed coaching baseball for the Mineral Wells Little League for several years. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Perrin Volunteer Fire Dept, and even served as an officer. He ran the concession stand at the Jack County Fair with the help of his wife for many years until 2005. He also enjoyed being the auctioneer for the annual Adell-Whitt Fire Dept. fish fry. He was a man with a serving heart, he enjoyed helping others, whether it was volunteering to help prepare for BBQ fundraisers, or volunteering his time to his kid’s class projects through the years. David was always willing and happy to lend a helping hand.
His greatest joys in life were his grandchildren and his great-grandson. He enjoyed passing down traditions of making cherry pies at Thanksgiving and rough housing with them all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Darold and Myrtle Hamilton, brothers Billy Wayne Chenoweth and Bruce Hamilton, and granddaughter Shandie Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife Minnie Hamilton of Perrin; children Lee and wife Kathleen Hamilton, David and wife Ashley Hamilton, and Davitte and husband Chad Gardner all of Perrin. Grandchildren Braden and wife Bailey Hamilton of Clarksville, Tennessee. Frank Jackson and fiancé Julissa Vasquiz of Lewisville, Texas. Ryder, Autumn and Ryan Hamilton, Allie Hamilton and Charlie Gardner all of Perrin. Great-grandson Bryson Hamilton of Clarksville, Tennessee. Aunt Wilma Mitchell of Houston, Texas. His beloved dog, Steadman. Sister Brenda McNabb of Millsap Texas. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Perrin.
