Grace Evelyn Berry

Our loving mother, Grace Evelyn Berry, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday June 24, 2020. She was 89 years old. Grace was born on the 12th of August 1930, in the small east Texas town of Alto, to the parents of James Robert and Carrie Lou (French) Nolley.

During her last year at Rusk High School, Grace met the love of her life,Tech Sergeant Andrew Drate Berry, but his friends just called him, AD. In 1958, AD and Grace moved to Mineral Wells, Texas. It was there that they made a home with their four children, Andrew, Bob, Cathy, and Carolyn. The family will always remember the wonderful cooking along with her loving family traditions of holiday celebrations. Her next-door friends enjoyed Grace's company on daily walks. Grace also loved the lessons and sermons from her Pastor and friend, R.B. Shiflet, of the 11th Avenue Church where she attended many years. She said of Pastor Shiflet, “He was a good man, a good teacher, and he knew his Bible well.”

Grace leaves behind her children: Andrew Berry and wife Sylvia, Bob Berry, Cathy Snoddy and husband Joe, Carolyn Erwin and husband Randall; six grandchildren: Michelle Soileau and husband Jason, Kristin Goodman and husband Brandon, Shannin Berry, Brittany Berry and husband Jamie Walker, Andrea Lynch and husband Wesley, and Drate Berry; seven great grandchildren: Braden and Corbin Bates, Shelbi Berry, Braxton Goodman, Kylie and Kinsley Lynch, and Grayson Soileau.
