Gloria Faye Malicoat Turner

Gloria Faye Malicoat Turner passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 28, 1957, graduating from Brownfield High School. Prior to graduation she met the love of her life, Keith, and together they spent over 48 years together living life to the fullest, raising a family, and devoting themselves to their community and the Lord. Gloria was a mother, friend, and caring soul to her daughter, Kristi, her son, Kalan and innumerable others that passed through her home and her life. Gloria’s comforting presence was a treasured safe haven not only for her family but for all that had the blessing of moving through life with her.

Upon graduation from High School, she entered the workforce working as a bookkeeper for various Ford dealerships. Later she worked for H&R Block preparing tax returns. That led her to accepting a position of Office Manager with Wes-Tex Vending Company, where she worked for over 30 years. Aside from working, she was very active in church activities. There were never any strangers in her life, just people that she had not met. Her loving and caring heart shone in her attitude of helping others. Whenever someone was in need, she came to the rescue over and over again. Her love for the Lord was prevalent in everything she said, touched, and did.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Frank James Malicoat; her mother, Vivian Odessie Boyd Malicoat; her sisters, Lorena Malicoat, Jessie Lou Malicoat McInnis, and Mary Malicoat; her brothers, Gary Malicoat and FJ Malicoat; and her Aunt Theata Malicoat.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Keith Stanley Turner; her daughter, Kristi Overbeck and husband Thomas Overbeck; her son, Kalan Turner and wife Katie Newsome; five adoring grandchildren: Jaden Overbeck, Destiny Overbeck, Wyatt Turner, Jackson Turner, and Finley Turner. Gloria’s extended family includes sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kim and Kery Hurst, brother-in-law Eldon McInnis, nieces Barbara Arnold, Laura Howard, Jamie McInnis, Misty Hawkins, Kassi Hurst, and Kelcee Lewis, and nephews Bruce Malicoat, Kurt Hurst, and William Birmingham.

Visitation will be at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Southside Church of Christ with burial following at Woodland Park Cemetery.
