Glenda Sue Robinson of Mineral Wells passed from this earth September 2, 2024. She was surrounded by the love of her family.
Glenda endured 290 days without her soulmate, Cecil Robinson. She called her daughter one evening not long after Cecil passed and said “I don’t know what to think or do. This is the very first time in my entire life I have ever been home alone.” She went straight from her parent’s house to married life as a teenager. Now they are together again. Glenda Sue Burns Robinson was born on September 6, 1963, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Glenn and Sue Phye Burns, and is the eldest of eight children. Her childhood was marked by frequent relocations between Texas and Oklahoma, with formative years spent in Mineral Wells, Texas, Mooreland, Oklahoma, Pecos, Texas, and Enid, Oklahoma. It was in Enid that she met her future husband, Cecil, whom she married on November 9, 1979. The couple celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary shortly before Cecil's passing in November 2023.
The young couple's family expanded swiftly, welcoming Christina and Cecilia in 1980, then Joshua in 1982, Matthew in 1983, Lora in 1984, and William Casey in 1988, resulting in five children under four, with another added three years and two months later. They raised their children all over Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico chasing the oilfield finally settling in Jacksboro, Texas and then back to Mineral Wells.
Her six children are the source of her greatest pride and joys, her grandchildren: Wesley, Mason, Levi, Derrick, and Bryson Robinson; Aubrey, Ryan Robinson, Ryker; William Jr, Charlotte, and Axel Robinson; River and Lake Moore; and Great Granddaughter Elena.
Glenda's multifaceted career spanned years as a homemaker, raising six children, and collaborating with Cecil in the early years of their marriage with cutting horse training and cattle operations. She later entered the medical field, where she found fulfillment in working with the elderly prior to her retirement. Glenda's hobbies included reading, flower gardening, and camping, with a pronounced passion for reading that earned her the moniker of bookworm. Her nose was frequently buried in a book. Her children will treasure the memories of their camping trips. Late night random phone calls, and her wicked sense of humor.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband Cecil R Robinson, Jr., her parents Glenn and Sue Burns, brother Lloyd Burns, beloved grandchildren Levi, Charlotte, and Axel Robinson.
Glenda is survived by her children and their spouses, Christina and Chuck Moore, of Lubbock, Tx, Cecilia and David Smith, of Mineral Wells, Joshua Robinson, Matthew Robinson and Lora Robinson all of Mineral Wells; William Casey and Reagan Robinson of Graham, Tx; and her grandchildren, Aubrey, Wesley, Mason, Ryan, William Jr, Derrick, Bryson, River, Lake.
