Born in Garner, Texas to Roy Sr. and Martha Knight on August 29, 1936. She was the youngest of seven brothers who loved her dearly.  June attended and graduated from Millsap High School and Dallas School of Business. She was an accomplished piano player from the age of nine and continued her musical studies spending four summers attending the Stamps School of Gospel Music in Dallas. She was the pianist for several gospel groups, touching many lives through her music and song.

June continued a long family tradition of service to our country just as her brothers had done.  She began her career working at what was then known as Camp Wolters in Mineral Wells, Texas.   When the base was later changed to Fort Wolters she assisted with the closing.  She then went on to Carswell Airforce Base in Fort Worth, Texas as the Transportation Officer of all military branches for the US Government. She also served as the President of the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the National Defense Transportation Association. She traveled all over the United States as a speaker for military transportation. She transferred to Gunter Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama on a special assignment called TOPS.  She was once again promoted and returned to Carswell Air Force Base, Fort Worth, Texas where she retired after working 40 years and 8 days for the United States Government.

Her smile lit up any room she entered. She married the love of her life, Milton Wayne “Soup” Campbell Sr. on June 21, 1957.  June and Soup touched so many lives playing gospel music for churches all over the county. They sang for many gospel gatherings, weddings and many funerals for their friends and loved ones.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years and 99 days, Soup Campbell, Sr. Their two beautiful children, Melody Ann Campbell-Bodine and husband Mike and Milton Wayne “Bubba” Campbell Jr. and wife Marcy. Her brother Dr. Bill Knight, seven grandchildren, Amy, Curtis and wife Stephanie, Lesley and husband Robert, Julie, John and wife Mackinze, Melissa and husband Gerime and Hannah. Nine great-grandchildren and one precious great-grandchild on the way as well as several nephews and nieces.

She was a longtime member of the Cool Assembly of God Church and the church pianist all her life. She loved her church family. Her voice blessed and inspired countless people.  She was greatly loved for her contagious spirit, her love for Jesus Christ and the love she had for her wonderful family and friends.
