Gilbert Stacy Hogan

December 1, 1933 — January 1, 1900

Gilbert Stacy Hogan, 85, passed away September 16, 2019 in a Fort Worth hospital. He was born December 1, 1933 in Valdese, North Carolina the son of Howard and Henrietta Hogan. He was married to Janice Hogan for 55 years until she preceded him in death. He had 1 brother and 5 sisters. He graduated from Valdese High school where he played football. He proudly served his country in the Korean War and continued to serve in the National Guard until 1993. He worked as company clerk and finally the Army Corps of Engineers in Korea. In the guard he was a medic for a short time and a mess sergeant for many years. He worked most of his life at Perry Equipment. He retired from Corrections Corp where he taught food service. He was an active member of Central United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed being a scout leader for many years, and coached little league. Graveside services will be 10 AM Friday, September 20, 2019 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family will hold a celebration of life service on Sunday, September 29 at Central United Methodist Church immediately following the church service. He is survived by his children: Richard Hogan and wife Gennifer, Amy Crowe and Manette Plumlee, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
