Gerda Inge Seagroves, 83, of Mineral Wells, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018, at her home, surrounded by family. She was born May 28, 1935 to Alfred and Amalie Weber Nickel, in Sinn, Germany. Gerda grew up in Germany, during WWII, and met her husband, Ralph Benjamin Seagroves during the war. Once he retired from the Army, the two volunteered their time to crochet blankets, hats, and socks for the VA hospitals. She was a Life Member of the Disabled America Veterans Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, where she was the former Chaplain. Gerda was preceded in death by her husband, "R.B." Seagroves, and her son, Alfred Ralph Seagroves. She is survived by her son, William Seagroves and wife Karen; grandchildren, Amy Lex, Jason Seagroves, Anita Seagroves, Brandon Seagroves, Sara Little; great-grandchildren, William Harwell, Jason Harwell, Justin Harwell, Keith Seagroves, and Hunter Seagroves; sisters, Dorris Theis and Annelie Nickel-Weber; her best friend of over 50 years, Mary Jo Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Friday evening, August 3rd, 2018, at Baum-Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10:00 A.M. the next day, Saturday, August 4th, 2018, at the Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
