Gary Lee Helmick

Gary Lee (Hot Gas) Helmick, 76, passed away May 5, 2022. He was born October 15, 1945 to Rebecca and Ronald Helmick, in Elkins, West Virginia.

Gary served in the United States Army. He worked for B.J. Services and Baker Hughes for over 45 years, retiring in 2016. Gary’s favorite pastime activities were fishing, gardening, and working in his yard.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Helmick; sister, Amie Friend and husband Eddie; brother, Ed Helmick and wife Mary Ellen; daughters, Sheila McCullough and husband Shawn, Nicole Ware and husband Chris; step-daughter, Daria Fallin and husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Liam, Caleb, Ami, Brandon, Katlynn, Mathew, Ty, and Brynli; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; daughters, Kerri and Deanna; and brother, Mark Helmick.

Gary donated his body to science for the study of dementia. At his request no memorial or service.
