Frieda Hall Henson passed away April 13, 2013. Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation was Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She was born in Montague, Texas, raised in Fort Worth, and has lived in Mineral Wells since January of 1961. During the Vietnam War she taught instrument flight and navigation for helicopter pilots until the base closed. In 1978 she went to nursing school, became an LVN, and worked as a clinical nurse for the late Dr. Gordon Gafford. After retirement in 1986, she taught art classes, owned a private gallery, and sold painting supplies. She was also a published poet for the International Library of Poetry and also Noble House of London. In lieu of flowers she requested that any monies be donated to the Mineral Wells Art Association at PO Box 475, Mineral Wells, TX 76068. She was the last founding member of the association which was organized in 1961. Donations can also be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a nephew, and 2 nieces. She is survived by husband of 62 years: Robert L. (Bob) Henson, daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Dana Christy, 3 granddaughters, and 3 great-grandsons.
