Frederick Cotton 86 of Weatherford expired 5/30/08. He is preceded by his parents Abb and Debbie Cotton(Marsh), Daughter Paulette, Julia May Garvin, five brothers and wife. Birthed 3/09/22 North of Mineral Wells on a farm where the family operated a cane roller and syrup still and his father did Blacksmith work. He was an accomplished square dance caller active until September of 2007 donating countless hours of entertainment for rest homes and retirement centers in the Mineral Wells and Weatherford area. He raised cattle and for 13 years he was the Music Director at Rock Creek Baptist Church and the last charter member of Rock Creek Cemetery Association. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company in 1983 spending time in the Toyah, TX, Carlsbad, NM, and Wilcox, AR regions. In the Mineral Wells region he worked for the Bates Grocery Store, Camp Walters as the Base Exchange Manager, Striplands dairy, Baker Hotel and Married School sweet Heart Julia May Garvin on August 5th 1941. Drafted by USN 1943, serving for the amphibian-training base at Ocean Side California. He is survived by children Dr. Fred J Cotton, Don W Cotton, and Sue Cotton, nine GrandChildren, sixteen Great Grand Children, three Great Great Grand Children, Nieces and Nephews Frederick Cotton, 86, of Weatherford, expired Friday, May 30, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at the Rock Creek Baptist Church with interment in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Rev. Harry Garvin and Rev. Gary Richardson will officiate.
