Frankie Richard Robbins

Frankie Richard Robbins, Sr., 78, of Azle, Texas, passed away at home on Friday, April 22, 2022 from natural causes. His loving wife, Nancy, was by his side.

 

Frankie was born on August 15, 1943 to Dolphus “Doc” Ray and Hazel Inez Tate Robbins in Jacksboro, Texas.  He was a 1961 graduate of Perrin High School in Perrin, Texas.

 

After high school, he served in the Army National Guard from June 1961 to June 1967.

 

He also worked at Texboro in Mineral Wells and General Dynamics in Fort Worth until he found his passion during a thirty year career of firefighting.  Frankie proudly served the City of Fort Worth as a firefighter from June 1968 to June 1998. Since his retirement, he has remained active with the Fort Worth Retired Firefighters Association.

 

During his retirement years, he has enjoyed a life full of activity with family, friends, and his church. He could always be found volunteering to help others, playing dominos, listening to bluegrass music, or attending family events, including the many activities of the grandchildren he adored. His love for his family was apparent in all he did.  Regardless of the activity, he was always on the go and living life to the fullest while keeping God the focus of his life.

 

He was an active volunteer for the Texas Baptist Men Association and the Top of the Hill Gang at First Baptist Lakeside Church, which performed various volunteer acts of home repairs for needy families in the First Baptist Lakeside Church.

 

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Daniels Robbins; daughters, Cathy, and husband Ronnie Johnson, and Connie, and husband David Bitters, Lori Pace, and Mindy, and husband Chad Ober; grandchildren, Jamie, and husband Clint DoByns, Brittany Johnson, Taylor Bitters, Garrett Bitters, Sawyer Ober, and Sela Ober; and great grandchildren, Macee, Karter, and Kinzee DoByns.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolphus “Doc” Ray and Hazel Inez Tate Robbins; brother, Charles Ray Robbins;  son, Ricky Robbins; and grandson, Brent Johnson.

 

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Lakeside Church, 8801 Jacksboro Hwy., Lakeside, Texas 76135 on Tuesday, April 26th, from 6:00-8:00 pm.

 

Service will be held at First Baptist Lakeside Church, 8801 Jacksboro Hwy., Lakeside, Texas 76135 on Wednesday, April 27th, at 10:00 am.

 

Interment will follow the service at Perrin Memorial Garden Cemetery, Back Cemetery Rd., Perrin, Texas 76486.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas Baptist Men Association or the Red Cross.
