Floyd Ray Barham, 73, passed away June 20, 2018 at his home in Mineral Wells after a courageous battle with cancer.His memorial service is Saturday, June 23, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells with Nathan Buchanan, from First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells, and Dr. Mark Bumpus, from First Baptist Church of Graham, officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery.Floyd was born in Parker County, Texas on April 10, 1945 to Mattie Otheta (Jones) Barham Gill and Charles Irvin Barham, Sr. One of six brothers, he grew up around Palo Pinto County attending school primarily in Mineral Wells.Upon returning from service in the U.S. Army, Floyd met the love of his life, Virginia (Jenny) Lewis. They were married on December 20, 1969 and had four children.Floyd retired from Century Link in 2008 after more than 30 years as a telephone lineman. One of his favorite quotes to his kids was: "I worked that day." Indeed, he was a hard worker, and he stressed the importance of work and dependability to his children.Floyd's greatest legacy is his faith. He accepted Jesus as his Savior as a teenager and remained a dedicated and faithful servant throughout his entire life. He served as a deacon at Indian Creek Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells. He led his family by example: loving his wife; loving, instructing and disciplining his children; providing help and guidance to all who needed it; and faithfully serving his church.Floyd is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jenny, of Mineral Wells, TX; his son, Mark (Jennifer) Barham of Williamsburg, VA; his son, Charles (Teresa) Barham of Mansfield, TX; and, his daughter, Cassie (William) Collins of Kemp, TX. Grandchildren include: Kelly Barham (Viri Alba) and Jayden Alba of San Antonio, TX; Joel (Bailee) Barham, Jr. and Tripp Barham of Fort Worth, TX; Morgan (Robbie) Hernandez and Blake Gilbert and Jaxon Hernandez of Mansfield, TX; Dylan Harden of Dallas, TX; Nolan Barham of Mansfield, TX; Allison, Hannah and Ben Barham of Williamsburg, VA; and Hallie and Cammie Beth Collins of Kemp, TX. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Barham and Stanley Barham, and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his son, Joel Barham, Sr.; his parents; and brothers, Charles Irvin Barham, Jr., James Barham and Jesse Barham.Pallbearers will be Allen Barham, Danny Barham, James Barham, Michael Barham, Ronnie Barham and Stephen Barham.
