Fern Caudill

October 4, 1909 — March 3, 2009

Fern Caudill, 99, of Perrin passed away March 3, 2009 in Mineral Wells. She was born October 4, 1909 in Graham the daughter of Alex and Maggie Parsons Stringer. She lived in Perrin most of her life, and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church there. She was a teacher for 30 years, having taught in the Bunger, Fox Hollow, Whitt, and Perrin schools. She was a member of the Palo Pinto County Retired Teachers Association, and the Palo Pinto County Historical Association. She was a wonderful mother, grannie, aunt, friend, and teacher. She was a very independent lady who loved her family dearly. She never met a stranger and touched many people with her quick wit. Can't was not in her vocabulary. If you did not succeed the first time you tried and tried again until you did. She had traveled the world and loved every minute if it. She was married to Litt Caudill in Palo Pinto County and he preceded her in death in 1965. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Norman and Kay Caudill of Graford, daughter and son-in-law: Catherine and Darrell Francis of Perrin, granddaughter and husband: Cindy and Clif Sears, grandson and wife: Darren and Sharon Francis, great-grandsons: John Reedy, Forest Francis, Hunter Francis, and Monty Reedy, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be 10 AM Friday, March 6, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Perrin with Rev. Michael Hardaway and Rev. Mark Sims officiating. Burial will follow in McAdams Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Perrin building fund or to Susan G. Komen.
