Fayrene Barnes passed away in her sleep with her loving husband at her bedside on September 17, 2015 at the age of 81. Fayrene was survived by husband Maurice Young of Mineral Wells; sons Randal Johnson of Mineral Wells, Greg Johnson and Sherri McGinnis of Mineral Wells, Bryan and Lisa Johnson of Fort Worth, Christopher and Dianne Johnson of Durango, Wally and Pamela Bagley of Millsap; Sisters Darla Hill of Mineral Wells, Jolita and Earl Hampton of Kennedale; Grandchildren Michael and Maia Johnson, Eric and Chelsea Johnson, Chloe Johnson, Iris Johnson, Brooklyn Bagley, Tres Bagley, and Rebekah Bagley, Brandon And Brandy McGinnis, Sara and Johnathan Mendez, Tanner Morgan, Terra Morgan; and eight great grandchildren. Fayrene was preceded in death by her parents James and Edith Barnes, and niece Karen Hill-Denny. Fayrene was born on July 5, 1934 in Graham, Texas to parents James and Edith Barnes. She graduated from Mineral Wells high school, and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in social work while working at the post office as a rural mail carrier, after retiring from the post office she went back to college and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing passing her state exam to become a registered nurse. Fayrene married Maurice Young in 2013. They spent their time together gardening, playing cards and enjoying the company of their family and friends. Fayrene was loved by all that knew her. She was a kind soul and generous person that was always there to lend a helping hand when someone needed it. She loved the outdoors; living on the Brazos River for over 40 years she cherished the wild life sharing her back porch will all that came to visit her. Her passions were dancing, gardening, and volunteering. She danced her whole life and loved to socialize. Her Gardening skills were second to none having a yard that could have been featured in any garden magazine. She was an active participant in her community donating her time to multiple charities including Meals on Wheels, Boyce Ditto Library, and Palo Pinto General Hospital to mention a few. A memorial is scheduled for 10:00 AM on October the Third at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Fayrene's life.
