Faye Powell

Faye G. Powell, 75, of Mineral Wells, was received into glory on Sunday, July 22, 2018. She was a Christian and loved her Lord Jesus. She was born March 5, 1943 in Murfreesboro, TN to Rufus and Louise Gilliland. Faye married her high school sweetheart, John Carl Pierson, in 1963 and was married to him for 26 years before his passing to brain cancer. Faye married Jack Powell in 1993 and moved to Mineral Wells. Jack shared Faye's experience of marrying Barbara, his high school sweetheart, and losing her to cancer. Together, Jack and Faye enjoyed almost 25 years of marriage. They were members of Southside Church of Christ throughout their marriage. Survivors include her husband, Jack Powell; her children, Paige (Rodney) Rodgers and Charles (Pam) Pierson; stepsons, Jay (Lori) Powell and Clay (Rhonda) Powell; eight grandchildren, Morgan (Chris), Taryn (Chris), Jay Martin (Karley), Madison, Broox, Janae, Jax, and Carl. Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m., Monday evening at Baum-Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Southside Church of Christ, 1401 SE 25th Avenue, Mineral Wells. There will also be a graveside service for family and friends in Murfreesboro, TN to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Southside Church of Christ Opportunity Camp Fund.
