F. O. Cooper passed away June 21, 2010 in a Mineral Wells nursing home. He was born September 11, 1920 in Paducah, Kentucky the son of Solon Hugo and Cartie Lee Wilson Cooper. He married Daisy Bandy in 1941 in Mineral Wells. They had two sons: Edgar Dean and Ronald Gene Cooper. He was a longtime resident of Palo Pinto County, and a member of Southside Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served in WWII as a Torpedo Man, First Class. While enlisted he received numerous awards and citations, including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He worked for General Dynamics in Fort Worth for many years. Throughout his life he always enjoyed family, farming, good food, and good conversation. Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with William Eudy officiating. Burial will follow in Perrin Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. He is survived by his sister: Jane Woodard and husband Jess of Wichita Falls, sister-in-law: Frances Cooper of Houston, brothers-in-law: Jerry Bandy and wife Lois of Mineral Wells, Wayne Pruitt of Mineral Wells, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2005, sons, parents, and eight siblings.
