Evelyn Pittman Conant passed away in Ft. Worth Texas on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 after fighting pancreatic cancer. Evelyn was born December 2, 1924 at the family farm in Brazos Valley on the Brazos River. Evelyn was the 9th of 12 children born to Wilbur and Myrtle Pittman. She graduated from Brazos Valley School and Tarleton State University with a bachelor degree in business. She married her childhood sweetheart, Johnny Busby, March 8, 1940. They raised two children in Mineral Wells where Evelyn worked at the First National Bank and moved on to Texas Power & Light Company (currently TXU). At TP&L, Evelyn's mentor was Al Jarrell, manager. Evelyn was a member of the First Christian Church and many organizations in Mineral Wells with numerous friends and colleagues. Johnny and Evelyn had a loving marriage until his death in 1980. Evelyn transferred to the Dallas office of TXU where she worked as an administrative trainer. In October 1986 Evelyn married Robert White. They both retired and traveled all over the United States until his death in 2000. Their favorite spot was Red River, New Mexico for the summer season, catching trout and shopping. During her marriage to Robert White, Evelyn was active in the Lady Elks, AARP, and playing Mrs. Santa Claus. Evelyn was fortunate to meet and marry her current husband, Harold Conant in September, 2004. They, also, spent their time traveling all over the United States Florida, Michigan, Oregon, Washington, California, Missouri, and a place very special to them the island of Maui where they spent many days sitting on the lanai enjoying their life together. Evelyn was active and involved up until her death. Evelyn leaves behind spouse, Harold Conant of Ft. Worth; son, Alan Busby of Cleburne, Texas; daughter, Susan Montana of Lago Vista, Texas; granddaughter, Sonia Golcuklu and husband Yilmaz of Leander, Texas; great-granddaughter, Rania Golcuklu of Leander, Texas and sister-in-laws, Hilda Pittman of Sierra Madre, California and La Vaun Pittman of Springfield, Missouri. Surviving Evelyn are nummerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Evelyn is also survived by a number of step-children, and step-grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by husbands, Johnny Busby and Robert White; parents, Wilbur and Myrtle Pittman and 11 brothers and sisters. Visitation is Friday 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Services will be 11 AM Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
