Eva Mae Coker, 92, passed away December 30, 2010 at her home in Tucson, Arizona. She was born November 9, 1918 in Triune, Tennessee the daughter of Hatten Robert and Alice (Allie) Bell McCanless Adams. She married Clyde A. Coker on September 22, 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee, and they were married for 70 years. She was Church of Christ and taught Sunday School for 25 years. She graduated from the David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1938. She worked for the Commandant of the US Army Helicopter School at Fort Wolters for 22 years retiring in 1973. She was chosen by the Resort City Chapter of the National Secretary Association as Secretary of the Year in 1963. Services will be 2 PM Sunday, February 13, 2011 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Jerry Thomas and Dick Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Smile Train, PO Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090-6231 in her memory. She is survived by her husband: Clyde Coker of Tucson, Arizona, son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth C. and Katharine Coker of Charleston, South Carolina, daughter and son-in-law: Patricia C. and James Heller of Tucson, Arizona, grandson and wife: Lee McCanless and Lucynda Coker of Atlanta, Georgia, brother and sister-in-law: Ira Thomas and Martha Adams of Tennessee, and sister: Louise Tilley of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her son: Edwin Ernest Coker, and brothers: Robert, James, and Herschel Adams.
