Etta Faye Doan, 88, of Mineral Wells, Texas died Saturday, March 5, 2011, in Victoria Gardens of Allen in Allen, Texas. Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, March 10, at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel in Mineral Wells. Pastor Bill Hudson will be officiating and the burial will be in the Woodland Park Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Doan, Scott Doan, Lloyd Holloway, Byron Holloway, Leslie Hall and Colt Power. Viewing will begin Wednesday morning at the funeral home.Ms. Doan was born July 6, 1922, in Davis, Oklahoma, the daughter of Richard Jesse and Lucinda Patience Peery Bruton. She and her husband, Jasper William Doan, owned and operated service stations on South Oak Avenue in Mineral Wells from 1947 until their retirement in 1982. She was also employed at the First National Bank for many years and was a member of the Eleventh Avenue Church. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Glen and Lois Doan of Plano and Jerry Doan of Arlington; grandchildren, Steven Doan of Dallas and Scott and wife Melanie Doan of Denver, CO; great-grandchild, Ethan Doan of Denver, CO.; sister, Jean Greengard of Weatherford, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Karen Doan, her husband, 4 brothers and 1 sister.The family would like to recognize and thank the caregivers at Victoria Gardens of Allen and VITAS Hospice Care for their excellent care and support.
