Essie Bell Smith

Essie Bell Smith was born May 5, 1923 to the parents of the late William Smith and the late Eartha Smith in Longview, Texas. She attended school in Longview. Essie Bell married "the man of her dreams," Hilliard (Jack) Smith and moved to Mineral Wells, Texas.Cherished in her memories are sons Bobby R. Smith (wife Janice) of Rowlett, Texas and Jackie Lynn Smith of Lancaster, Texas; daughter, Essie Cartwright-Brumfied of Tyler town, Mississippi; seven grandchildren: Bobby Smith Jr. (wife Christie) of Millersville, Maryland, Kerry J. Brumfield of San Antonio, Texas, Passione Henry of Baltimore, Maryland, Raven Henry of Tyler, Texas, Sheila Wilson of Alabama; nine Great grandchildren: Bryce Smith, Savannah Smith, Chanel Smith of Rowlett , Texas, Shanika Brumfield Esq., of Washington D.C., James Nazree Brumfield of Severn Maryland, Christopher Brumfield of Millersville, Maryland, Kaila Brumfield of Millersville Maryland, Kendra Brumfield of Augusta, South Carolina, Nadia Borgo of New Orleans, Louisiana, and one great-great grandchild, Cayden Brumfield of Severn , Maryland; and many nieces and nephews. Essie was preceded in death by her husband, Hilliard; daughter Joan Cartwright-Wilson; brothers, Lewis Smith, Thomas Smith and J.E. Smith; and sister, Ida Bell Smith- Evers.Funeral Services will be at Hughes Chapel, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Woodland Park Cemetery, in Mineral Wells, Texas. The Rev. Arthur Williams will be officiating the services. Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
